12 000 m² of Thermal Performance for a Live Dairy Production Site
Product Gallery
Delivering an extension to a dairy producer's logistics platform meant installing a complete insulated envelope across storage zones with differing clear heights, up to 9,20m for the positive cold storage areas, and 6,00m for the reception, filming and shipping dock zones, while the existing production site remained fully operational throughout the works. To meet the requirements of a food-grade environment held at 4/6°C, the chosen solution combined PIR-cored sandwich panels: LA100 (100mm) for walls and LA120 (120mm) for ceilings, both classified Bs1 d0 for fire reaction and engineered to DTU 45.1, the reference standard for refrigerated and temperature-controlled buildings.
Careful sequencing of panel delivery and installation across the storage, picking and shipping zones allowed the works to progress without disrupting the dairy's ongoing production, with daily cleaning protocols adapted to the food-processing environment. The envelope incorporates 17 insulated pivoting cold-room doors, 20 ceiling access hatches for technical maintenance, and food-grade glazing between the administrative areas and the process zones. By combining a high-performance thermal envelope with a coordinated 16-week installation by an 8 person team, the project reduces energy demand for the cold chain while supporting the client's continued operational readiness.
